About

Ari Messenger is a New York City born-and-raised composer, arranger, baritone, and violinist. While studying jazz violin and mechanical engineering in Baltimore, Ari directed and arranged for a low-voice a cappella ensemble, The AllNighters, for which he blended pop, funk, jazz, EDM, and classical influences into nearly 50 original genre-bending arrangements. During this time, Ari won "Best Arrangement" in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, was nominated for "Best Male Collegiate Arrangement" in the 2016 CARA awards, and was praised by the Recorded A Cappella Review Board (RARB) for his "outstanding" and "effortless" arrangements of 'Round Midnight and Break Free.

Since then, he has composed and arranged works for Inspire: A Choir for Unity, Choral Chameleon, and others. He continues to write choral music while singing with Choral Chameleon, gigging around NY and NJ, and working full-time as a senior mechanical engineer for a biotech company in Brooklyn.

In his spare time, he fosters cats, photographs birds, and runs an ongoing multi-year D&D campaign.
